Since 1983, the tent city in the green surroundings of Mundenhof has been attracting around 120,000 visitors every year with more than 100 events. Look forward to a diverse main program, a colorful lineup of free activities, delicious food, and refreshing drinks.
The Festival Site
The ZMF is located about 7 km from Freiburg city center, directly next to to the Tier-Erlebnis-Park-Mundenhof.
Our area is open at the following times:
MO – FR from 6pm to 1am
SA from 4pm to 2am
SU from 1pm to 1am (admission to the matinees 30 minutes before the start of the event.)
Main program
The main program takes place in the Zirkuszelt and in the Badische Zeitung Zelt. The Zirkuszelt is an absolute eye-catcher and can be seen from anywhere on the site. The Badische Zeitung Zelt is a beautiful mirror tent near the entrance to the grounds and enchants with its special atmosphere.
The ZMF’s varied main program offers unforgettable concert experiences for everyone! National and international stars as well as newcomers perform here, blurring the boundaries between generations and musical styles.
Action program
The action program is free of admission and the place for newcomers and local artists. In addition to bands, it also hosts small artists, dance performances, comedy, circus artistry and much more. The acts take place in the Fürstenbergzelt, on the Fürstenbergbühne, which is open-air, the cabaret stage and on the grounds.
Unless otherwise advertised, the entire action program is free of charge!
Kids & Families
The Zelt-Musik-Festival Freiburg is also a great experience for families. The festival summer at the area next to the Mundenhof offers hands-on activities, workshops, crafting fun, games and more for young and old!
The children’s program takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2:30 pm in the Badische Zeitung Zelt.

Our Values
At the Zelt-Musik-Festival Freiburg, everyone should be able to enjoy culture and music without any worries.
We want to create a place where everyone feels safe and valued. We reject any form of discrimination and stand for respectful interaction with one another.
To bring more mindfulness to our festival site, we work together with nachtsam. Our employees as well as the security and admission staff are trained in this regard and an awareness team is on site.
