The admission-free action program is the place for newcomers and local artists. In addition to bands, it also hosts small artists, dance performances, comedy, circus artistry and much more. The acts take place in the Fürstenbergzelt, on the open-air Fürstenberg stage, the cabaret stage and on the festival site.
As the festival site is freely accessible, the admission-free supporting program attracts a large audience, gives the ZMF that certain something and conjures up a very special atmosphere.
All this brings action to the site:
Bands on stage: Bands, newcomer and musicians create the perfect setting for the festival and round off the day.
YoungStars in Action: The action program offers young talents the opportunity to showcase their skills and enjoy the spotlight through a variety of formats.
Workshops & hands-on activities: Technology workshops, dancing, drum circle and much more! All workshops & hands-on activities 2025 can be found here.
Performing Arts: You will find an overview of the performing artists 2025 here.
Families and children: ZMF also has a lot to offer for the youngest visitors and families! Have a look here.

Be part of a unique festival summer at the Zelt-Musik-Festival in sunny Freiburg and step into the spotlight on one of our stages! In addition to numerous spectators, you can expect a stage in a tent or open air, high-quality technical equipment, and people who will support you (sound engineering, lighting technology, etc.). Take the opportunity to have your music or talents discovered and enjoy the moment when the audience cheers you on loudly or simply listens and watches spellbound.
How to apply for the ZMF 2026:
Apply by email to action@zmf.de.
Please include the following information in your email:
- Name (of the band or artist)
- Genre (please use common genre names)
- Online presence (links to website, social media channels, etc.)
- Music samples (audio file, links to YouTube or Spotify, etc.)
- Bandmembers (names & number of band members/group)
- Place of residence (where are you traveling from?)
- Contact details & contact person (contract address, email address, phone number)
The review of applications begins at the end of the year and usually continues into the spring.
So there’s no need to rush. 😉
